WANTED:
Outstanding Mother and Father Nominees for the Chapter's 2000 Mother and
Father of the Year Award
The Greater Delaware Valley
Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is accepting applicants
for its 2000 Mother and Father of the Year award. The award recogn izes
parents who have faced the challenges of MS with courage and
determination, provide a positive role model for their children, and are
actively involved in the lives of their families, the Society and their
communities.
Recent local winners of the
award include Audubon, NJ, resident Christine Shuster; Warminster, PA,
resident Mike Monaghan; Roxborough, PA, resident Jessie Jane Lewis; and
Southampton, PA, resident Greg Vellner.
"Past Mother and Father
Award winners have ranged from artists and advocates to events volunteers
and a "Mr. Mom". You don't have to be a superhero to be
considered," says Chapter President Judith G. Cohen.
Anyone interested in nominating
a loved one for the award should e-mail Linda Smith, public affairs

person deserves to be chosen as the 2000 Mother/Father of the Year,
including their involvement with the Chapter, community, and the
characteristics of the person that make him or her an outstanding
parent.
Deadline for nominations is
February 1. Chapter Mother/Father of the Year honorees will be notified by
February 10.
