Wellness and Education Center at National MS Society Penn-Jersey
Office Welcomes Those With MS
The opening of the Chapter’s new MS Wellness And Education Center
on Monday, January 15, marked the culmination of months of planning and
hard work by local volunteers and staff. The fully accessible
multi-purpose room, designed to meet the needs of those living with MS,
opened with a week’s offering of classes including Tai Chi, Yoga,
Pilates, music & movement, aromatherapy,
and specialized presentations for men and women. “We plan on offering
Tai Chi, Yoga, weight training, and more in the future,” says Wellness
Programs Manager Stephanie Schultze.
Based at the Chapter’s
Penn-Jersey offices at 1 Reed Street, Philadelphia, PA, the new MS
Wellness and Education Center will offer classes designed to help those
with MS empower themselves, improve their confidence and make life style
changes for healthier and more successful living. Workshops and classes
include all aspects of life: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and
education are just a few of the topics covered. “The idea of
‘wellness’ is multi faceted, it can mean many things to different
people. We ask everyone to share ideas and interests to help us develop
and grow our services,” says Schultze. “Write, email, or call us and
we will listen to your ideas.”
