QVC’s Fifth Annual
Cure By the Shore On June 1 To Benefit The National MS Society
Keep your stations tuned to QVC on Saturday, June 1
from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. when the television shopping network sponsors its
fifth annual Cure by the Shore, this year to benefit members
of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Broadcast live from Malibu, the show features a variety
of celebrity guests in both advance promotions and at the event itself, as
well as celebrity co-host Don Diamont of CBS’s The Young and the
Restless.
Cure by the Shore offers viewers the
chance to purchase designer sunglasses, accessories and beauty products at
half the suggested retail price. Net proceeds benefit the National MS
Society; the event is expected to raise at least $1 million for MS programs,
services and research.
Much of the advance taping for the broadcast took place
at the Society’s Greater Delaware Valley Chapter offices, where production
crews interviewed MS clients participating in wellness and fitness programs,
volunteers in the W. Thacher Longstreth Resource Center and staff. In
addition, 2002 MS Father of the Year, West Chester resident Michael Bannan,
will be featured in interviews with his daughter at home as well as
discussing services with a counselor at the chapter’s offices.
